When I was first introduced to the Change Leader Inventory, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I've taken a lot of these kinds of diagnostic inventories in the past, and I wasn't sure how this one would be different.
After taking the CLI and being debriefed, I've come to a greater understanding of myself as a leader. The CLI breaks leadership into five areas, each one important for an effective change leader. After meeting with Dave to discuss my results, I was able to realize my strengths and weaknesses. Importantly, I came away with an idea of how to improve in my weakest areas while utilizing my strengths.
The Change Leader Inventory will change the way that I think about leadership and teamwork and my place in all of it. I have a fresh perspective on what an effective leader is, and how to become an effective leader myself.

This was a very interesting and rewarding experience. I was not expecting for this debrief to be so accurate; it made me look at my life and my personality in a new way. I now understand more about myself as a potential leader and what qualities I need to develop and improve on. The CLI debrief with Dave completes the test; he goes through each question and exposes the reasoning behind the responses. His knowledge and ...

I recently completed the Change Leader Inventory, and, though I was exposed to the material before, had never formally completed and debriefed the assessment. As a leadership educator, practitioner and student, I can attest to the power of the CLI to increase our self-awareness, thereby making us more authentic people, and, thus, more authentic leaders - a quality that is vital in today's diverse and rapidly changing world. Personally, the assessment provided me with things to think about, and I am a fairly self-aware person already (though there is always more to learn). Debriefed properly, there is a vital opportunity for the taker to engage in genuine self-reflection, which is always personally empowering. Additionally, if you combine the use of the CLI with other assessments, perhaps the MBTI and FourSight, and maybe even Kouzes and Posner's Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI) you are able to see preferences for managing and initiating change, solving problems, communicating and building relationship ...

"Invent"-ory. Inventory is a good name for this survey, for in taking it you may invent--or reinvent--your opinion of yourself. Of course, the person who knows you best is YOU, but sometimes it is clarifying to step back and see your reflection in someone else's eyes. In this case, the reflection is through the lens of Dave Bauer's Change Leader Inventory. It is an independently completed and co-dependently analyzed survey about YOU.
In taking it I received confirmation in some of my opinions and redefinition in others. This, however, was only because I had an open mind; I anticipate that this survey is not for everyone. On the surface, many of the questions seem obvious and maybe even a bit amateur. Impatience will make them remain so. You must set these impressions aside and allow Dave to guide you through the process. Initial skepticism will dissolve into respect when you see you ...
