Alden High School also uses group creative problem solving in their environmental curriculum which everyone has a voice. At the outset, the accuracy of the identified problem is established so that the students are focused on the right problem. For example, they may generate 50 to 75 ideas of possible solutions. (This is called breakthrough thinking.) Next, the most promising ideas are selected. These ideas are then developed into a workable solution. The solution is tested, refined, and strengthened. A comprehensively developed strategy leads to a detailed action plan.
