Composting

Compost made on-site is used in the environmental courtyards of the Aquatic Classroom and the Sculpture Garden.  Environmental science classes make the compost in the fall and spring using materials from the cafeteria (plant material only) and the woods near the school.  Using compost around shrubs saves water and helps keep weed seeds from germinating.
