Questions and Answers on hosting a Summit

This can vary based on the specific client and audience. In past Summits the numbers have been in the 50 - 60 range.

We find that a Friday and Saturday combination works well as youth only miss one day of classes when Summits run during the school year.

All contacts with media headline the host’s name, positive public relations for marketing the services of the host organization and the added benefit that selected staff from the host organization become empowered as environmental “Change Leaders” which results in improved operations for the hosting organization. This can lead to cost savings as operations become more sustainable.

Ideally there is a larger room with tables for the youth teams to work at in the design of the Action Plans. Several “breakout” rooms make for needed quieter work stations at selected times during the two days Summit. Audio/visual requests include: computer projection equipment and large screen surface, access to the internet using 8 – 10 computers. We ask that the hosting organization make every attempt to have recycling practices in place (paper, beverage containers)

No lodging is needed as the youth organizations find their own transportation to the Summit on both days. Food involves a light breakfast and lunch for the two days with a light afternoon snack each day. No dinner is needed.
