Coming from the Heart... In Order to Sustain the Effort
What does it mean to "Come from the Heart"?
- The intention is sincere and not one that seeks an advantage over another
- An ancient wisdom acts as the guide
- There is a simplicity and unity of purpose
- Endurance is now capable when times get tough
- People understand it, despite differences in race, nationality and economic class
- It grabs our attention
When I stand among groups of people and ask that they sincerely make the effort to come from the heart, I notice an immediate shift in the look in their eyes. They begin to sustain a focus on me, the expressions on their faces soften, and they become a bit quieter. Once a person or group begins to come from the heart, judgment is suspended, active listening increases and a desire to understand others appears. The outcome is the discovery of a better, wiser way.
In this spirit of heart-centered behavior, individual and collective efforts take on the quality of becoming sustained.
