Why would I create a Blog on the SES site?

Those of us at Sustainable Earth Solutions desire to empower tomorrow's environmental leaders. When we invite conversations, exchange ideas, share projects and initiatives, it is with the intent to catalyze innovative and adaptive thinking. An idea shared is like a seed placed in the soil - for now it may begin to germinate...

"Invent"-ory.  Inventory is a good name for this survey, for in taking it you may invent--or reinvent--your opinion of yourself.  Of course, the person who knows you best is YOU, but sometimes it is clarifying to step back and see your reflection in someone else's eyes.  In this case, the reflection is through the lens of Dave Bauer's Change Leader Inventory.  It is an independently completed and co-dependently analyzed survey about YOU.

In taking it I received confirmation in some of my opinions and redefinition in others.  This, however, was only because I had an open mind; I anticipate that this survey is not for everyone.  On the surface, many of the questions seem obvious and maybe even a bit amateur.  Impatience will make them remain so.  You must set these impressions aside and allow Dave to guide you through the process.  Initial skepticism will dissolve into respect when you see you ... I believe that the CLI provides young, impassioned leaders with the wisdom found in an experienced leader of change. The CLI first takes you through a series of ques ... Read More »

Some pictures - still to come

A description of the project - The Park School of Buffalo will be installing solar panels on two campus buildings.  The team is in charge of educating the Park community about the solar panels.

State data that supports positive change in the environment has occurred - The students have started their preparations for a morning meeting assembly.  They have been baking in a solar oven to show how people can use solar in their everyday lives.  Students from all grades have been curious about the oven and have been checking in on the baking progress.  They were amazed that you could cook with solar.  The group will continue with this education next week and serve the cake at our assembly.  They will educate the study body more in depth about the panels at Park.

If money was spent, how much and for what purposes? Approximately $100 has been spent.  ... Read More »
